John Clyde Hurst II

 John Clyde Hurst II, 49, of Gentry, AR was born November 23, 1973, in Rosedale, MS to John Clyde and Bonnie (Neilson) Hurst and passed July 15, 2023, in Springdale, AR.

  John attended Kingfisher High School where he graduated in 1993. He completed the Oklahoma Reserve Police Academy with Council on Law Enforcement Education and graduated from Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science-BS, Agribusiness/Agricultural Business Operations. John was also a retired Grady County Fire Chief. John loved football, golfing, fishing, hunting, racing cars and helping people whenever he could.

  John is survived by his father and stepmother John and Niki Hurst, Newcastle, OK; three daughters, Jenna and Stephen Matousek, Stillwater, OK and Emma Hurst and partner Jenna Hood, Stillwater, OK, Brittany Hurst-Wold and husband Matthew, Marlow, OK; one grandson, Luke Matousek; fiancé, Jen Campbell of the home along with three children, Dalton, Allie and Caleb Campbell, Gentry, AR; one brother, Tom and Lori Norris of Augusta, KS; two sisters, Tammy and Don Lowe, Augusta, KS, Terry and Don Hagebusch, Augusta, KS.

  John was preceded in death by his mother Bonnie Norris and sister Connie Cross.

  Memorial graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Pond Creek Cemetery with Pastor Jim Harvey officiating. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, Oklahoma.
