Melvin D. Hull

Melvin was born on March 20, 1932, in Anthony, Kansas to Glen and Dora Hull.  He passed away December 15, 2022, at the Wakita Community Health Center.  

Melvin was raised on the family farm west of Clyde.  He graduated from Wakita High School.  On September 28, 1957, he married Mary Ellen Mund.  He enjoyed living on the family farm, tilling the soil, raising hogs and cattle.  Melvin had a variety of jobs throughout the years but finally settled down at the Department of Transportation where he retired.

He was an active member of the FFA and received his state FFA Degree.  He loved to garden, especially growing lots of tomatoes.  One of his greatest loves was watching his great grandchildren play.

He is preceeded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen, son Dean, wife Anita and daughter Ellen and friend Dale; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2pm Monday December 19, 2022, at the United Methodist Church of Wakita with Pastor Wendie Jencks-Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Wakita Cemetery.  

Memorials can be made to the Community Health Center, United Methodist Church, or Medford Ambulance Service.
