Melvin Joseph Maly 67, was born March 27, 1957, in Enid, Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully February 12, 2025.
Melvin had a sense of dedication and devotion for his family, always comforting everyone and welcoming anyone. He enjoyed cooking, baking and canning his garden, these traits he learned from his mom and grandma Maly. His ability to use and work with various tools he learned from grandpa Maly. He was a great teaser of the lack of ability for some of us when it came to cooking skills and loved sharing his garden, making his friends and family happy.
Melvin graduated from Pioneer High School where he excelled in sports, especially football.
He had a talent for seeing something then designing it. His ironwork can be seen at the Plaza area in Kansas City and various locations in Dallas/Ft. Worth. Even when he lost his left eye Melvin continued to work and design.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mary Jane Maly, grandparents Louis and Anna Maly, Edward and Bessie Novy and relatives.
He is survived by his partner Todd Meritt; two sons, Colton Maly: Jarrod Maly and wife Carly and three grandchildren, McClain, Sutton and Creed Maly. his siblings Irene Imel, Anna Maly, Alice Cunningham and husband John, Loretta Maly, Eldon Maly and wife Tina, Lawrence Maly and other family members.
