Nash, Oklahoma

Ron Stone, Nash resident and beloved husband, father, grandfather, farmer and friend entered into the eternal presence of God on Friday, November 18, 2022, at his family homestead in Nash, Oklahoma at the age of 72.

Ronald Garrie Stone was born on June 7, 1950, in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Irene (Kingsley) Stone and Harlan Stone.  Ron lived in Nash until the age of twelve when his family moved to Waukomis, where he graduated from High School in 1968.  He went on to receive a Batchelor's degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1972 and served in the National Guard Reserves.  Ron began his 30-yearear teaching career in the Hennessey school district, teaching mathematics and coaching basketball.  He then moved to Pond Creek in 1976, where he taught math, coached girl's basketball, and took the high school basketball team to a state title.  In 1978, he then moved to the Jet-Nash school district, where he spent the bulk of his career teaching junior high and high school mathematics and coaching girl's basketball.  Ron finished his teaching tenure at Timberlake.

Ron also spent his life farming the land that his great-grandfather had homesteaded in the Land Run of 1893, spending his most sacred time among the wheat fields and cattle.  He was known in the community as someone who could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to those around him.  Ron was a member of many community organizations, including the Grant County Conservation District, where he recently received the Pioneer Conservation Award for lifetime achievement.  He loved fishing, quail and pheasant hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Harlan and Irene Stone and his first wife, Pam Stone.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Stone and five children, Heather Capelle and her husband Peter Capelle, of Mamaroneck, New York;  Kindann Fawcett and her husband, Anthony Fawcett of Austin, Arkansas; and Mathew Stone of Nash, Ricky Kincer and his wife Janine of Amber, Oklahoma and Leonard Kincer and his wife, Anna of Conroe, Texas.

He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Lucas and Spencer Capelle; Mackenzie, Tyler and Stone Fawcett; Syler, Micah, Maddox and Alora Kincer, Xander and T.J. Kincer.

Services for Ron will be held Tuesday, November 22 at 10:00 AM at the Nash Christian Church with Pastor Scott Maloney officiating.  Internment will follow at New Home Cemetery, Nash, Oklahoma.

Services will be under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Pond Creek.  Donations are welcome in memory of Ron Stone, to the Timberlake Education Foundation and Timberlake Athletics.
